‘Will and Grace’ revival renewed for Season 3

The cast of Will & Grace announced that the recently revived sitcom has been picked up for a third season.

Will & Grace originally ran for eight seasons between 1998 and 2006, starring Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes.

The cast revealed the news at PaleyFest in Los Angeles on Saturday. “NBC has also picked us up for a third season,” McCormack announced to the crowd.

The show returned to TV last September and was picked up for a second season before the revival even aired.

NBC has confirmed that the revival of the show has been given a third season, featuring 18 new episodes.

The cast also revealed that Season 2 will get an additional six episodes, originally having 12 episodes.

“As far as I’m concerned, we can’t get enough of Will & Grace and 23 more episodes is music to my ears,” NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt said. “We’re eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going. I’m overwhelmed by the euphoric response the new show has received from the press and the audience, and my hat is off to the unrivaled writing team of Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as the brilliant directing of Jimmy Burrows, for consistently delivering one of the best shows on television.”

Season 2 will premiere in the fall.

The current season of Will & Grace airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
