Three vegetable vendors die in altercation

Three vegetable vendors, Abdul Khan (50) and his sons Shehzad (25) and Shadab (14), died after an altercation in Sonapur, Bhandup, around 5 p.m. on Sunday. The three entered into an argument with competing vendors over the placement of their carts, and were attacked by sharp weapons.

“The vendors succumbed to their injuries during treatment,” Akhilesh Singh, DCP, Zone VII, said.

Shehzad was declared dead at Mulund General Hospital, while Abdul and Shadab died at Fortis Hospital, Mulund. A spokesperson from Fortis Hospital said the two patients had multiple stab injuries.
