Ever since casting director Mukesh Chhabra announced his maiden directorial venture — the official Hindi remake of The Fault In Our Stars — along with Sushant Singh Rajput, there was a lot of buzz around the female lead of the project. After numerous speculations around Deepika Padukone and Janhvi Kapoor potentially being a part of the film, the name of the lead actress has been revealed: debutante Sanjana Sanghi.

Rajput took to Twitter and posted:

The beautiful @sanjanasanghi96 will be co-starring with me in the remake of the Hollywood hit #TheFaultInOurStars directed by @CastingChhabra & music by @arrahman @foxstarhindi pic.twitter.com/HvDX8XbDLk

It is already known that Academy Award-winning Indian composer AR Rahman has been roped in to score music for the upcoming film. He was previously reported to have quoted: "When I heard the narration of their Indian adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars and especially how music is so beautifully woven into the narrative, I got quite excited."

The Fault In Our Stars (the film) is based on John Green's bestselling novel of the same name. The film stars Shailene Woodley (of Divergent fame) and Ansel Elgort (recently seen in 2017 acclaimed film Baby Driver). The premise of the story is around a love story between two teenagers who suffer from cancer. The film (and the book) delves into the minds of cancer patients who look forward to something more than just receiving solidarity and consoling.

The Indian remake of The Fault In Our Stars is backed by Fox Star Studios. The other details, pertaining to the release etc are not yet known
