Hamilton's fire department says three adults and two children inside a Hamilton Mountain home escaped an early Monday morning fire that destroyed their home.
Firefighters were called to the home on 384 East 21st St., at approximately 8:25 a.m.
Upon arrival the fire was "fully involved", says fire and safety officer Dave Forster.
All the people inside, three adults and two children, got out safely.
The cause of the fire is unknown, says Forster, as the damages to the home are too severe to tell.
Forester says due to the damage, the home is "unlivable" and the Red Cross will be helping the displaced family until further notice.
Forster says the estimated damage to the home is approximately $350,000.
