Saratoga County drug bust
Media: Times UnionBALLSTON SPA - Investigators found 20 pounds of marijuana and 2.5 kilograms of cocaine during a six-month investigation of drug dealing in Saratoga County that officials describe as the biggest in county history.
In addition to seizing drugs worth $300,000, investigators found $264,000 in cash during raids on a drug dealing ring, Sheriff Michael Zurlo said.
The investigation was a joint operation carried out by the sheriff's department, State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Zurlo was tightlipped about many aspects of the case but said six people were arrested on March 4 after deputies carried out seven search warrants.
The heart of the investigation centered on Dennis E. Jones, 64, of Schulyerville.
The investigation is not complete and other arrests are possible.
