NEW DELHI: Minister for food and consumer affairs and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday said even though comments by some BJP leaders tended to create a wrong impression about the government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return to office in 2019.

“There is no vacancy of PM’s post in 2019 and opposition parties should stop daydreaming,” Paswan told TOI.

While coming in full support of several initiatives for Dalits and minorities, Paswan said statements by a few BJP leaders keep creating wrong perception about the central government. “NDA has done maximum for Dalits and minorities whereas Congress only used them as votebanks. There are many leaders in BJP such as Sushil Modi and Shahnawaz Hussain from Bihar, who have secular credentials, and they need to be given more prominence,” Paswan said.

The LJP chief also said the PM has never spoken against any religion. “LJP will remain in NDA,” the minister said.
