Two weeks into the District 32-6A softball season and the Harlingen South Hawks and Weslaco Lady Panthers have proven to be the early frontrunners for the league crown as they are tied atop the standings at 4-0.
Something will give today, however, as the two face off at 7 p.m. at Lady Hawk Field.
Last week, the Lady Hawks got wins over Brownsville Hanna and San Benito while the Lady Panthers beat Harlingen High and Brownsville Rivera.
Later this week the Lady Hawks are at Weslaco East while the Lady Panthers will be at San Benito.
MORE SOFTBALL:
After a disappointing 13-0 loss to Harlingen South on Thursday, the San Benito Lady Hounds (3-1) will look to get back on track Tuesday with a game at Brownsville Rivera. Meanwhile, the Harlingen Lady Cardinals, who convincingly belted Weslaco East 10-3 last week, are at Los Fresnos tonight.
