The likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ding Junhui aren’t competing but there is still a strong field of 12 of the top 16 best ranked players competing.
This tournament is not part of the ongoing Race to the Crucible because no ranking points will be on offer.
However, there is still plenty to play for with €50,000 set to be awarded to the champion on Sunday.
Despite this being the first staging of Romanian Masters, the country has staged a snooker tournament before after Bucharest hosted the 2016 European Masters.
