In Uttar Pradesh, devotees thronged the Goddess Durga temples this morning to offer their prayers to the Goddess on first day of Chaitra Navaratri. All famous temples and Shakti Peeths in the state including Vindhyachal in Mirzapur, Naimisharanya in Sitapur, Alopi and Kalyani in Allahabad and temples in Devipatan in Balrampur and Shakumbhari temple in Saharanpur have been decorated beautifully. Our correspondent reports that people in large numbers are visiting temples to offer their special prayers.
