GURUGRAM: A
sex racket allegedly operating out of a rented house in
Sector 9A was busted on Friday night, with the arrest of six women. The main accused is a woman from
Mewat who allegedly lured the other women from that district, police said.
An FIR under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act has been registered against all six accused. They were produced in a city court and sent to judicial custody on Saturday.
According to police, a raid was conducted by a team headed by inspector Bijender Kumar, SHO, Sector 9A police station, around 8pm on Friday. “We sent a sub-inspector as a decoy customer to the house. He met with a woman there and finalised a deal and gave her some signed notes. After receiving a signal from the sub-inspector, we raided the house and arrested the six women,” said the SHO.
Police said the main accused is a 37-year-old woman, a resident of Pinagawa in Mewat. The other women are aged between 20 and 35 years.
“We conducted the raid following complaints from residents of the sector who live close to the house the accused were operating their sex racket from. The accused have been sent to jail and we have informed the house owner,” said sub-inspector Ghanshyam, the investigating officer.
