Around 90 percent schools here have improved their status in installing CCTV cameras, speed governors, keeping breath analyzers etc but fees hike remains an issue of concern that needs much attention.
Ranchi SDO Anjali Yadav on Friday said that the status of most private cradles on safety parameters have seen a considerable progress. However, the issue of annual fees hike continues to haunt the parents as complaints keep on pouring from the guardians on this issue.
“After the formation of sub-committees there is a tremendous improvement from safety perspectives. In comparison to last year private schools have adhered to the safety guidelines up to 90 percent. Only the annual fees hike issue is something where private school managements are continuously charging more than the required amount, compliance of rules in such cases will be ensured soon for parents’ convenience,” added Yadav.
In a bid to keep a track record of private schools majorly on three issues which include maintenance of school buses, uploading book lists details following the new academic session besides, regulating annual school fees is being prepared by the district level committee members. “At least, a week more will be required to complete the compilation task as most of the officials have been engaged in the preparation of upcoming municipal poll-2018,” the SDO said.
Approximately on 63 parameters like maintenance of school buses, coverage of Right to Education (RTE) norms-2009 including a few other guidelines that must be abided by the private cradles to ensure the safety of school children, as many as 12 sub-committees have been constituted recently.
Also, to curb the monopoly of private school administration, especially during the new academic session, the SDO has appealed to the parents and guardians to register their complaints, if they are being forced to buy books/stationery items and school uniforms from a particular shop/outlet or in case of a fee hike. The district administration will immediately take stern action against the private school managements, if they are found violating rules.
To register the complaints, parents and guardians can dial on 0651-2208378 or can even call on 94315-87446 between 12 PM to 2 PM. Executive magistrates will register the complaints and will guide the parents and guardians accordingly.
“In accordance to the rules mentioned and based on the decision of district level officials taken annually during the schools management committee meeting, action will be taken against private schools violating norms regarding annual fees hike. Parents can directly register their grievances as well,” said Yadav.
