According to PEAK (Public Education Advocates for Kids), a Bartlesville citizens group has organized a fundraiser that has already raised more than $20,000 to help with childcare needs and to support teacher actions in the event that Bartlesville schools close on April 2nd for a teacher walkout.

The fundraiser’s goal is to reach a total of at least $40,000.

There are 2 separate funds which people may donate to – an Education Support Fund and a Teacher Support Fund.

PEAK says the Education Support Fund will be used to support groups like the Boys & Girls Club and the YMCA that are working to help kids while schools are closed, and the Teacher Support Fund will help with local rallies, signs and educational materials, and transportation costs for events at the Capitol.
