Betty Jean Burleigh, 72, of Lynchburg, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, March 16, 2018, after a courageous battle of cancer for 14 years. Betty was a member of Living Water Ministries. She was the loving wife of Dale Burleigh who preceded her in death February 19, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Lynn Burleigh; and a brother, James Martin Jr. Betty is survived by her two children, Melissa "Missy" Anderson and Bryan Burleigh; two grandchildren, Tiffany Neas and her husband, Jonathan, and J.D. Anderson; two great-grandsons, Levi and Hunter Neas; her sister, Nancy Lee Poe and her husband, Clarence; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Diuguid Funeral Service, Waterlick Chapel, (434) 237-2722, with Pastor Mack Almond, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
