As many as 112 forms were purchased for the election of different posts in Lohardaga municipality. For the post of chairman the candidates are Anupam Bhagat, Mamta Ekka, Sugandha Kujur of AJSU, Jayanti Bhagat, Samela Bhagat and for vice chairman the candidates are Prem Kishor Prajapati, Vimal Kant Singh, Ashok Kumar Sahu, Rajeev Ranjan, Balram Sahu, Rauf Ansari, Ritesh Kumar, Balmukund Lohra, Om Prakash Singh.
Apart from it 96 candidates purchased the forms for ward councilors. DC Binod Kumar said, “The code of conduct for the election has been imposed in the district from March 12. An election wing has also been set up. The district administration is on toes to conduct the election fairly and impartially.”
Total number of voters in urban areas is 34232 that include 16743 female and 17489 male voters. Total number of wards is 23. Post of chairman is reserved for ST women candidate. The post of vice president is unreserved.
