BETHEL — The town has a back-up plan if it is forced to postpone Tuesday’s budget public hearing because of the forecasted snowfall.
The Board of Finance voted to hold the public hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel Middle School auditorium if Tuesday’s meeting is canceled due to the weather. Tuesday’s meeting is still scheduled for 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium.
At the public hearing, residents will discuss the proposed $75.2 million budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year. The proposal includes $30.2 million for the town, $45.1 million for the schools, $3.9 million for debt service and $500,000 for school maintenance. A $1.4 million capital budget is also proposed.
