Former Mayor Bangi Ananthaiah and some of his followers got their heads tonsured in front of the Kurnool Collectorate on Saturday, in a protest demanding Special Category Status to the State.

Flaying the Central government, he demanded grant of SCS as promised before bifurcation of the State. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was striving with commitment for development of the State, but the Centre had been dilly-dallying in extending the promised funds, he alleged.
