Five civilians killed in Pakistan firing on LoC

Five members of a family were killed and two others critically injured on Sunday in shelling on the Line of Control (LoC) in and Kashmir's district, police said.

According to the police, the Army resorted to indiscriminate shelling and firing on the civilian areas in Mendhar sector.

"firing and shelling started at 7.40 a.m. The house of a civilian identified as was hit by a shell.

"Chowdhary, his wife and three sons were killed. His two daughters were critically injured," the police said.

The Indian troops were retaliating appropriately and effectively in the ongoing gunfire.
