Love the country lifestyle?
You’ll want to check out Rural King, the new store opening soon in the old Sears space at the Beaver Valley Mall. One of the sponsors of The Times’ Home and Garden Show, Rural King will have a booth showcasing a variety of their products.
“We’ll be bringing some power equipment, some lawn décor, and some information about our RK Tractors,” said marketing manager Sue Francis. “We will also have associates available to answer questions.”
Rural King, headquartered in Mattoon, Illinois, has more than 100 stores in 13 states. The Melvin and Speer families founded the company in 1960 with the goal of helping customers with their farm and home needs. Rural King is still family-owned, and is opening about 10 new stores per year.
The company brands itself “America’s farm and home department store.”
“Like our customer, we live, love, and embrace the rural lifestyle, which is why we work so hard to give the best price, quality, and service every day,” says Francis. “We are our customer, and we’re excited to be joining and serving the Beaver County community.”
Rural King sells livestock feed, farm equipment, agricultural parts, lawn mowers, fashion clothing, housewares and toys.
“Our stores carry industry-leading name brands, including Stihl, Cargill, Purina, King Kutter, Tarter, Red Brand, Yeti, Remington, Ruger, Carhartt, Wrangler, Ariat, Justin, Under Armour, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Hobart, Ingersoll-Rand, and Husqvarna.
Store managers are always on the lookout for quality local products as well. “We support local businesses and encourage vendors to supply our stores with locally made honey, salsa and barbecue sauces,” says Francis.
In addition to quality products and service, the company is known for its free popcorn and coffee for all customers.
“Rural King’s friendly staff is dedicated to serving your needs and can help you find whatever you’re looking for,” Francis says. “Come on in, have a free bag of popcorn and a cup of coffee on us, and we what we have to offer.”
