Maken slams CM for saying sorry to Majithia

Criticising Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for tendering an apology to former Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken said the apology came after even 'Special Task Force' in its concluding remark noted that there is sufficient evidence to further investigate Majithia's role in drugs racket.

Maken said the Delhi Congress will hold a demonstration outside the official residence of Kejriwal on Tuesday, seeking an apology and demanding his resignation for betraying the trust and confidence of the people of Delhi.

Maken said that Kejriwal should also explain what kind of deal he has struck with Majithia before tendering his apology.

Already facing a series of defamation cases, Kejriwal tried to conclude it by providing a written apology to Majithia maintaining that the allegations that he had been leveling against the SAD's firebrand leader so fiercely in the run-up to 2017 Punjab Assembly polls were “unfounded”. Kejriwal had furnished a copy of apology in Amritsar court on Thursday, where he was facing a defamation case filed by Majithia along with two other AAP leaders, for allegedly “tarnishing” his reputation by levelling “false, baseless and malicious charges”.
