Liverpool 5 - Watford 0: Mohamed Salah scored four goals in an Anfield drubbing

Liverpool went into the game against Watford aiming to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Manchester United.

And Jurgen Klopp got the response he wanted with Salah setting Anfield on fire.

The Egypt international has been in fine fettle this season following his summer move from Roma.

Yet against Watford on a snowy Anfield evening, Salah took his game to an even higher level.

The Liverpool star scored twice in either half either side of Roberto Firmino's goal.

Even for that, Salah was involved with his cross prodded home by his Brazilian team-mate.

And he also has now overtaken Barcelona's Lionel Messi for goals this season.

Messi has 34 for the Catalan giants and is widely regarded as the best players in the world.

Salah, though, now has 36 and is likely to add even more by the time the season is up.

Liverpool's win over Watford means they now sit two points behind Manchester United in third.

And with Salah in their ranks, they could yet win silverware this campaign as well.
