Two from Tamil Nadu killed in accident

Two persons from Tamil Nadu, were killed and another also from Tamil Nadu, seriously injured when the LCV they were travelling in rammed a lorry which was parked by the side of a road here on Saturday.

According to the Kuravilangad police, the accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in front of the Uzhavoor block panchayat office at Kozha, near Kuravilangad. The deceased have been identified as Muthayya 50, son of Pandi Thevar, Sankaran Koil, Panamada, Tirunelveli North; and Dinesh Kumar, 26, Sethiyapadi, Sreerampuram, Dindigul.

The driver of the LCV, Senthil Kumar, 32, son of Guruswamy, Sethiyapadi, Sreerampurm , Dindigul, has been admitted to Kottayam Government Medical College with serious injuries, the police said.

According to them, the driver might have fallen asleep while driving.

The lorry carrying logs, being taken to Perumbavoor, was parked by the roadside.

The LCV was coming from Kottayam side to Thrissur, the Kuravilangad police said, when it rammed the backside of the lorry.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after autopsy at the hospital.
