A 19-year-old drowned in a tank while he was washing his cattle on Saturday at Mathikere Gollarahatti of Tiptur taluk in Tumakuru district.
The police said that Swamy, native of Mathikere Gollarahatti, had gone to the tank to wash his cattle but slipped and fell into the tank and drowned as he was caught in the silt around 11.30 a.m.
The police recovered the body with the help of villagers and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
A case has been registered in Tiptur rural police station.
