Joseph Richard Buckley, Sr., 70, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Cheryl Witt Buckley. Born on August 27, 1947, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Joseph Eldridge Buckley and the late Nancy Johnson Buckley Early. Mr. Buckley was retired from J.M. Huber in Halifax and was a U.S Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bedford. Mr. Buckley is survived by two sons, Joseph R. Buckley, Jr. and wife, Laura and Victor Turner, III, all of Forest; two daughters, Nancy B. Jackson and husband, Lare' of Amherst and Shannon B. Hicks and husband, Tony of Concord; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends to celebrate Richard's life from 3 until 5 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
