Rider rallies to 9-6 win

SHERMAN – The Rider Raiders avenged a home loss earlier this week with a 9-6 victory against Sherman in District 5-5A action Friday.

Reliever Maverick Folmar came in to throw five shutout innings, allowing the Raiders to rally for the win. Rider was down 6-3 when Folmar took over in the third inning, allowing just two hits with no walks and eight strikeouts.

“I'm very proud of our kids,” Rider coach Jeremy Crouch said. “We fell behind early and continued to fight back all game long. We showed tremendous resolve tonight. This was a very important win.”

A two-run double by Rayce Radtke in the top of the fifth put the Raiders on top for good, 7-6. Radtke finished 3 for 4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. His brother Ranse was also 3 for 4 with a run scored.

Rider improved to 5-11 overall and 1-1 in District 5-5A.

Coyotes shut out by Denison

The Wichita Falls High School Coyotes couldn't solve Denison pitcher Christian Ruebeck in a 10-0 loss Friday in District 5-5A action.

The Coyotes were held to just one hit with Ruebeck also walking four and striking out nine in six innings of work. Zach Williams had the Coyotes' lone hit.

Old High slips to 2-12 on the season and 0-2 in district.
