 At the stock markets, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 293 points, or 0.9 percent, to trade at 33,392 in afternoon session, a short while ago, on selling in a few sectors amid weakness in Asian markets over US tariffs on commodities and its impending global impact on world economies.
In the broader marker, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were also trading lower, in intra-day trade.
The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange dropped 95 points, to 10,265.
At the Forex market, the rupee gained 4 paise, to 64.89, against the dollar, in intra-day deals.
