SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -

Shawnee police issued an alert for a missing 3-year-old girl Friday after her mother took her away from emergency DHS custody.

They say 3-year-old Gracie Sheldon was in emergency custody with DHS but was taken by her mother, 26-year-old Brittany Dabbs, Thursday evening in Shawnee.

Police later found the toddler safe in Seminole. Police say Dabbs and other suspects are being questioned.

The incident is still under investigation.
