Perez opens internal medicine office
Dr. Ruben Perez, a board-certified internal medicine physician with the Heart of Florida Physician Group, has taken over the practice of Dr. Ashish Shah, who passed away unexpectedly last year. Hemali Shah, Dr. Shah's widow, is the office manager for the practice. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held March 7 at the office at 350 First St. N. in Winter Haven. Perez offers diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases as well as preventative care, senior care services, sports physical exams and care for common illnesses. He also speaks Spanish. Sendy Mora, a nationally certified family nurse practitioner, has also joined Perez’s staff and has started seeing patients in the Winter Haven office. She provides in-office assessments, diagnosis and treatment of patients. She has seven years of experience as an emergency room nurse. She recently graduated from Duke University as a nurse practitioner. She also speaks Spanish. Both Perez and Mora are accepting new patients.
