STalaiya police have nabbed a fraudsters who duped a 25-year-old youth to the tune of Rs 3 lakh by posing crime branch officials; two accused involved in the fraud are still at large.
Police said that the victim Rehan was duped by his friend Ibaad Khan along with three other accomplices.
The victim lodged a complaint after he grew suspicious. In his complaint the victim stated that he wanted to sell gold coins and contacted his friend Ibaad who introduced Shafeeq as buyer and when they were discussing to sell the gold coins to two other accused posing as crime branch official came and took the gold coins and his bike and during the action Ibaad hinted the victim to escape the spot after which he escaped the spot.
Later, he was informed that Ibaad has been arrested and to avoid arrest he would have to provide Rs 1.5 lakh and when he failed they prepared an affidavit of providing Rs 1.5 lakh to them. Thereafter, the victim realized that he was duped and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 170,327 and 120 B of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Ibaad Khan was arrested while search for the three absconding accused has been started. The accused have also taken the motorbike of the victim. Police said that Ibaad conspired with the three accomplices to dupe the victim and the gold coins and motorbike are yet to be recovered.
