TULSA, Oklahoma -

The 72-year-old motorcyclist killed in Tulsa traffic Thursday has been identified. Nicky D. Phillips of Sand Springs died after he crashed on Highway 169 near 51st Street.

Police say Phillips was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on the highway when he saw traffic stopped in front of him. Police said Phillips put on his brakes, and the motorcycle began to wobble then went down. The driver of a large commercial crane was unable to avoid hitting Phillips, accident investigators said.

He was pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital.
