more-in

A delegation of Congress met Election Commission members and submitted a representation not to take cognisance of the vacancy notification given by the Telangana government after expelling its two members — K. Venkat Reddy and S.A. Sampath Kumar — from the Assembly.

The delegation led by party leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy explained to officials the series of events that led to expulsion and said the two MLAs have already approached the court for the undemocratic manner in which they were expelled. He requested the authorities to wait for the Court decision before considering any action on it.
