On Saturday a bill that drew protests from Beijing will turn into a law if the US president does not veto it. The White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders stated that a final decision was not made and the legislation approved by both the chambers of the US Congress, has angered the Chinese government.
The congressional aides stated that if Trump did not veto it the bill will become law on Saturday even if he did not sign it.
After the US congress approval on March 1, the Taiwan’s Presidential Office stated that the government would hold talks with Washington on exchange with visits after the US congress approval.
However, Being expressed string dissatisfaction and protested to the United States.
Taiwan has been considered as a wayward province by Beijing subjected to eventual unification if necessary by force.
It has repeatedly warned the US and other countries against forging ties with Taipei or allowing visitors by the senior Taiwanese official, considering the president and the vice-president.
Ever since Tsai Ing-wen became Taiwan’s president in 2016 the cross-strait relations had soured and it refused to accept the one-China policy.
Better paying jobs, access to bigger markets and equal treatment with main lander to lure Taiwanese across the strait has been used as economic sweetners.
In February 31, the Beijing-based Taiwan Affairs Office announce policies aimed at smoothing the way to better integration between Taiwan –mainland.
Among this twelve of the measures relate to business while the rest covers social and employment issues.
If the incentive measures do not work as per the analysts , the mainland could move to forcibly seize the self –ruined island.
However no timetable has been assigned for such a drastic move.
