This dark comedic drama is about a mother (Frances McDormand) driven to the edge by her daughter’s unsolved murder, who mounts three scathing billboards directed at the inefficiency of the small town’s authorities, instigating a showdown with the town’s revered chief of police, William Willoughby (Woody Harrelson) and his immature second-in-command, Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell).
At the recent Oscars, the film won Best Actress (McDormand) and Best Supporting Actor (Rockwell). It is directed by Martin McDonagh.
