Karate Academy students bring laurels to State

Players of Madhya Pradesh State Karate Academy brought laurels to the State by exhibiting a wonderful performance at a National level competition. The players bagged two gold, two silver and four bronze medals in the junior cadets and under-21 national karate competition.

The junior cadets and under-21 national karate competition was held in Delhi last week. After exhibiting an impressive show at the championship, the medal winners met Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia on Thursday at TT Nagar stadium.

On meeting the winners, the sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated them for appreciating the performance of medal winners.

She encouraged them to do better in future championships as well and bring laurels to the State and the country.

On this occasion, Jayendra Sharma, the Chief Coach of Karate academy and Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Upendra Jain were also present.

It is to be noted that Ankit Sharma won the gold medal in the individual category of 75kg under n Junior category championship. Similarly, Team Kata including Gargi Singh Parihar, Saloni Patidar and Vandana Yadav won gold medals in junior girls category.

In Kumeti event, under 21 category of competition, Gargi Singh Parihar 47 kg, the Academy's player Vishal Vishnoi in Cadet Individual  84 kgs, won a silver medal. Cadet Individual Kumeti event  Isha Malviya 54 kgs ,  Rishabh Tomar  52 kg in weight category, Ashni Kumar Singha in the weight of  70 kilograms, and Kiran Malvi in ??under 55 kg category of individual-cum-21 individual category won one bronze medal.
