Two militants died in an attack by security forces on Thursday night at Balhama area in the Srinagar outskirts.

The incident took place when Jammu and Kashmir cops revolted the attack on the BJP leader Mohammad Anwar Khan and ambushed the militant in a residential house on Thursday afternoon after hunting them down at Balhama area of Khunmoh. The attack wounded personal security officer.

“Armed forces, following leads (about presence of terrorist s), seized a cluster of residences at Balhama.  The hiding militant however gun fired upon the armed forces. A CRPF member witnessed bullet injuries and was taken to 92 Base Hospital. His condition is better.” cop representative stated.

As per cops, 2 bodies of militants have been found from the spot.

Cop has lodged a complaint under relevant sections of law and probe has been started into the matter.

BJP Leader Anwar Khan flee from the spot without facing any injury but his constable Bilal Ahmad got wounded in the incident, cops stated.

The wounded police officer was taken to the hospital but his circumstance was said to be better, the official said.

Armed forces had carried out investigation at Balhama area after the attack. “Following the leads from the Khunmoh (Balhama) incident, security forces have seized the area, from where the militant started gunfire,” it added.
