The Jana Sena Party (JSP), the CPI (M), and the CPI have decided to jointly fight for securing the implementation of the A.P. Reorganisation Act and also get the other demands conceded.
The decision was taken during discussions held by JSP founder Pawan Kalyan with leaders of the Left parties here on Thursday.
CPI (M) and CPI State secretaries P. Madhu and K. Ramakrishna deliberated on the course of action with Mr. Kalyan, who wanted to work together in public interest and mount pressure on both the Central and State governments to keep their promises.
Addressing the media, Mr. Madhu said the meeting had also resolved to make a concerted effort for the development of the backward regions while keeping up the tempo as far as the Act and other issues were concerned.
Talks with NRI wing
It was decided to take some concrete steps at a roundtable planned to be organised on March 19, and enlist the support of various civil society organisations. Earlier, Mr. Kalyan had talks with members of the party’s NRI wing, and said he only expected “intellectual cooperation” from them. He asserted that the JSP was not prepared to play the role of a mute spectator in contemporary politics, and it would not mind even if it made enemies in the process. Politics were centred around caste configurations to the detriment of society, but the JSP would refrain from promoting such interests, he added.
