Florence Elizabeth "Pony" Shepherd On March 13, 2018, God quietly called His daughter home to her heavenly rest. Florence was born in Campbell County, on January 11, 1942, to the late Archie and Maggielean Randolph. Florence joined Bethany Baptist Church at a young age. Florence joined Immanuel Christian Church and served on the Board of Deaconess and she dedicated her life to serving others in the health care field. Florence was the wife of the late Charles Shepherd. Florence was married to the late Harold Lee Garland, from that union four children were born. Florence was preceded in death by her son, Harold Lee Garland, Jr. Florence leaves to celebrate her life and final journey two daughters, Fernanda Cording, of Lynchburg and Tiffany Garland, of Lynchburg; one beloved daughter, Sheorndia Banks; one son, Kevin Lee (Darlene) Garland, of Lynchburg; 19 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Rosetta (Edward) Steeples, Maggielean Williams, of Lynchburg, and Doreen (Alfred) Keys, of Louisiana; four brothers, Archie Randolph, Perry Randolph, Frank Randolph, all of Lynchburg, and Garrison Randolph, of Tacoma, Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Immanuel Christian Church, with the Rev. Ruth Charlton, officiating and Pastor, Dr. Mack Johnson, officiating. The interment will be held in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 5 until 6 p.m. at Davis-Turner Funeral Service.
