A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Holyhead .
The 22-year-old Merseyside man was arrested in Sefton on Wednesday after a man was stabbed outside Waterside Flats in the town earlier this month and was left fighting for his life.
He has also been arrested in connection with a "less serious" incident of Violence in Market Street, Holyhead which happened on February 21.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Kearney said: "Thanks to the excellent work of the first responders, medical and nursing staff at Ysbyty Gwynedd I’m relieved to report the victim is recovering and no longer in intensive care but it is imperative that we identify all those involved in this extremely violent and unprovoked attack, which are fortunately rare in North West Wales.

"Despite an individual having been arrested we still need to hear from as many witnesses as possible to gather the full facts and identify all those involved.
"I am therefore appealing once again to our communities in Holyhead to come forward with any information about both incidents and help us ensure North Wales remains one of the safest places to live in the UK."
The attack took place on March 6, with emergency responders thanked for "saving this young man's life".
The arrested man will appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court this morning, where police will apply for extra time to question him.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting reference RC18028374.
