The third Day of the Irani Cup was marred by delays with the rainfall leading to a late start in the match. The entire first session was washed away by the rainfall after which one over was bowled before another interruption was caused due to bad light. Wasim Jaffer, who was looking to score his triple ton lost his concentration with all the interruption and failed to get going. Siddarth Kaul dismissed him for 286 with a terrific inswinger. Apoorv Wankhade and Akshay Wadkar built yet another partnership for Vidarbha as they added 86 runs together. Wankhade reached scored his maiden first-class cricket fifty and made an unbeaten-90 before bad light caused yet another interruption. The players went off the field and Tea was taken.
