Two people have been indicted on charges of stealing memorial vases from Gracelawn Cemetery south of Wilmington.

Earlier this week a New Castle County grand jury indicted Alicia A. Hart, 27, and Harrison E. Hudson, 28, on charges of theft, selling stolen property, conspiracy and criminal trespass.

The indictment states that the two stole metals and other miscellaneous property valued at more than $1,500 from the cemetery, at 2220 N. Du Pont Highway.

The indictment does not describe precisely what was stolen. The document does state items stolen include brass memorial plot vases left by the owners to memorialize the dead.

The court documents said the two sold the stolen items.

A Delaware State Police spokesman declined to comment on the investigation until the duo are arrested.

The pair was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by having a family member, under the age of 18, present when the cemetery thefts occurred.

Both Hart and Hudson are scheduled to be arraigned later this month.
