There is good news for sports fans watching matches of India and Pakistan. They will once again get to see the match between the two teams in June this year. Both the rivalry teams  of India and Pakistan will play the first match of the Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament in Breda, Netherlands against each other on June 23.

In addition to the matches of India and Pakistan under the program announced by the International Hockey Federation on Thursday, two more matches will be played on the first day. The tournament will run from June 23 to July 1.

After India and Pakistan match, the match between the host and European champions Netherlands and the 2016 Olympic gold medalist Argentina will be played. Existing World Cup, World League and Champions Trophy winner Australian team will face Rio Olympics silver medalist Belgium.

The hockey teams of Netherlands, Argentina and Australia have qualified for the tournament automatically, while the other three countries have been invited by the FIH Executive Board. This tournament is special in many ways. The men’s Champions Trophy will be played for the last time and there is a clash of rivals in the match already.

Pakistan hosted the first Champions Trophy in 1978. Now in the last tournament, he will launch his campaign against India and millions of hockey lovers around the world will be waiting for this match. After that, India will have it’s matches with Argentina on 24 June and Australia on 27 June. This is followed by playing against Belgium on 28 June.
