Palmetto Club scholarships
The Palmetto Club of Daytona Beach is awarding four $1,000 scholarships to area students graduating May 2018 at the following high schools:
Seabreeze High - open to female applicants who will major in nursing, medicine or science
Atlantic High - open to both female and male applicants
Mainland High - open to female applicants
Spruce Creek High - open to both male and female applicants who demonstrate leadership qualities

Miracle League of Volusia County "Draft Day"
The City of New Smyrna Beach with the Miracle League of Volusia County announced the "Draft Day" celebration of Fregolle baseball field constructed to accommodate special needs children noon on Sunday, March 18, at 1800 Turnbull Road, New Smyrna Beach. The Miracle League of Volusia County welcomes league participants and their families to this unique event to celebrate “Draft Day” preceding the league’s inaugural Opening Day scheduled for March 24. Genealogical Society to meet
The Roots and Branches Genealogical Society of West Volusia County will meet 1 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the DeLand Public Library, 130 E. Nowruz festival
The Iranian American Society of Daytona Beach will celebrate the arrival of Nowruz, the Iranian New Year, by hosting its annual Nowruz Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach.
