BU official accused of harassing female students

A junior official working in the examination section of Bangalore University has been moved out allegedly for misbehaving with girl students who had approached him to get their grievances addressed.

Officials said that he allegedly took the mobile number of girl students and send them messages. Several students submitted a written complaint to the Registrar (Evaluation) of the university.

Registrar (Administration) B.K. Ravi said that the varsity will examine the issue, conduct an inquiry and also refer it to the sexual harassment committee of the university.

The junior assistant, has now been posted to the administrative department.
