PITTSBURGH, March 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In more recent years, tensions have increased between police officers and civilians. These tensions have led to a number of altercations between police officers and individuals in a vehicle during a traffic stop. Unfortunately, such altercations can become violent and even turn deadly.

An inventor from Topeka, Kan., has invented POLICE ASSISTANCE DEVICE, a device for a police officer to investigate and communicate with a pulled-over motorist without exiting the police car. "I keep hearing news stories about police officers being hurt or killed when they approach and then attempt to talk to individuals in a stopped vehicle," said the inventor. "This invention came to me as a way to reduce the chances of that happening."

POLICE ASSISTANCE DEVICE provides a safe and convenient means for a police offer to investigate a stopped or pulled-over car and reduces the potential for a police officer to be ambushed, shot, and injured or killed.

This invention improves police officer safety by preventing confrontations and provides peace of mind for police officers on the job. Additionally, it helps to reduce exposure to the elements, such as snow, cold winds or rain.

The original design was submitted to the Kansas City office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
