BJP Floor leader in the Assembly P. Vishnu Kumar Raju sought to justify the apparent delay in delivering some promises related to the A.P. Reorganisation Act by saying that fulfilling all assurances that parties give to the people was easier said than done.
Making his point on financial assistance to the unemployed youth during question hour in the Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Raju said it was good that the State allocated ₹500 crore for the proposed allowance in the last year’s budget but unfortunately, the number of beneficiaries could not be finalised yet.
“Therefore, the Ministers, MLAs, government officials and others should realise that it is not an easy thing for the parties to honour their commitments in a particular time frame. There will be some genuine problems coming in the way,” he stated.
Marketing products
Nandyal MLA Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy suggested that in addition to providing monetary assistance, the unemployed youth could be engaged in marketing the products of small industries.
Minister for Law and Justice, Youth and Unemployment Benefits Kollu Ravindra said a Group of Ministers was on the job of identifying the number of unemployed youth and the quantum of assistance to be extended to them. The data generated by the Smart Pulse Survey and other sources of information were being examined for the stated purpose, the Minister informed the House.
