New Zealand International Cricketer Mitchell Santner is unlikely to play in the 11th edition of Indian Premier League due to painful right knee injury. The player was auctioned for Rs. 50 lakh to play in Chennai Super Kings squad.

As per the reports, the doctors have suggested Mitchell Santner to undergo surgery.

Recently, 26-year old Kiwi showed her amazing side in the ODI series against England. Now, CSK team will be looking forward for a replacement in the team.

CSK’s CEO K.S. Viswanathan stated, “We are aware of the situation. Santner’s replacement will be picked by the captain and the coach.”

As per IPL policy, his substitute should not go beyond this price and can be selected only from the record of unsold cricketers whose base price is Rs. 50 lakh or less.

CSK team may choose Australia’s left-arm spinning all-rounder Ashton Agar in the squad. Other players who are in the list include Pragyan Ojha, J. Suchith, Iqbal Abdulla, R. Sai Kishore.
