CBSE exam continued with social media messages hinting that Thursday’s Std XII
Accountancy paper had been leaked. CBSE, however, denied a paper leak and termed it as “mischief”, for which it will register an FIR at Delhi.
Meanwhile, the news didn’t affect city’s students. After the exam concluded, students deemed it to be an easy paper but an extremely exhaustive affair.
Experts said that though the paper was quite simple, passing percentage might not increase as students might have fret over Higher Order Thinking Skills questions. Indermeet Kohli, an accountancy teacher from The
Jain International School, said, “The paper was quite uncomplicated with a very lucid language. Though there were a few questions which must have posed difficulties in understanding as the questions were a bit tricky. The style of paper was, however, followed to the T and was very easy.”
Sharing her views, a post graduate teacher of accountancy from
Delhi Public School, Devendra Gupta said that although it didn’t match the set question pattern, the paper was nevertheless easy. “Since the students are in the habit of solving likewise questions, even a minor change can distress them. Most of the questions were expected, so this definitely was an advantage and pattern of only a few questions was changed,” he said.
Accountancy papers are expected to be lengthy and hence time management becomes a vital part of answering the questions.
Dhananjay Rawat, a commerce student, said, “Even though the paper was easy, I could not manage my time and solve the paper in three hours.”
Another student Shreya Rao said, “The toughest part for me was the Probation account. Points on shares given by our teachers helped a lot.”

Sarthak Vij said, “Section A was the toughest while Section B was quite lengthy for me. Time management was crucial in todays’ paper.”
Vij’s batchmate Nikita Jha said, “Adjacent question was the toughest to solve. I got confused while answering a few questions as the language was tricky.”
Few other students had a slightly different view. One of them, Bhavna Menon, said, “The paper was easy by CBSE standards, with only a few questions twisted. I had difficulty in solving Equations of Shares.”
Jatin Vidhani added, “Our teachers helped us quite a lot while preparing for the exam and I am content with my paper. I hope to score good marks.”
