Manchester City, Roma and Sevilla are seeking a first title in the 63-year history of the European Cup and Champions League.

Madrid aims to be the first club to win in three straight years since Bayern won its third title in 1976.

The open draw for the quarter-finals is the first stage of the competition with no seeding and no restrictions on teams from the same country playing each other. Clubs from the same national association can be drawn against each other. The side drawn first will play the first leg at home.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be played over 3-4 April, with the returns scheduled for 10-11 April.

The Champions League draw will be followed by the draw for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

For the first time in the Europa League's history, eight clubs from eight different countries have reached the quarter-final stage of the tournament.

Arsenal (England), Atletico Madrid (Spain), CSKA Moscow (Russia), Lazio (Italy), RB Leipzig (Germany), Marseille (France), Salzburg (Austria) and Sporting Lisbon (Porto) are the teams vying for the title.

Just like the Champions League draw, there is no country protection for the teams in Europa League draw as well.

The first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals take place on 5 April with the return fixtures a week later on 12 April.
