Minor fire breaks out in Paschim Express due to short circuit

VADODARA: A short circuit was reported from toilet of a general coach of Paschim Superfast Express which was on its way to Amritsar late on Friday.

According to officials of Vadodara railway division, the toilet witnessed a minor fire due to the short circuit when the train was between Kashipura and Itola sections of the railway division after the train had left Vadodara railway station.


After the incident which took place at around 6.56pm, the train was taken in loop line of Itola.


The train later resumed its onward journey at around 7.57pm and is running nearly an hour and a half behind its schedule.


Movement of no other train was affected due to the incident, officials of the railway division said.
