West Ham ace Mark Noble blasts fans for invading London Stadium pitch

MARK NOBLE has told the fans who invaded the London Stadium pitch on Saturday that they lacked “class” and urged all West Ham supporters to pull together just to get the club through the season.

The Hammers captain had to wrestle one supporter to the ground during disturbing scenes that interrupted the 3-0 defeat by Burnley.

And speaking from the club’s warm-weather training camp in Miami, he appealed for solidarity at least until the summer with West Ham perched precariously just above the relegation zone.

“I’m probably as passionate as the fans themselves,” he said. “I want the club to do well. You can’t show your emotions like that by running on the pitch.

“The way our club has always been, we’re a really passionate bunch of people. But at times we show a bit of class and that wasn’t the case on Saturday.”

On Wednesday, representatives from West Ham met with other London Stadium stakeholders in a bid to avoid a repeat of the disturbances and announced there would be life bans for fans who came on to the pitch or threw missiles at the directors’ box.

“The club is working in close conjunction with the Metropolitan Police to identify those individuals who entered the pitch and those who threw missiles.

Any individual found guilty will be banned from attending any West Ham United fixture, home or away, for life.”
