Charles Fred Hunsinger, 88, of Georgetown, Pa., passed away Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born April 13, 1929, in Jefferson, Ga., son of the late Dewey and Elvie (Young) Hunsinger. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps, enlisting on July 31, 1946. Charles was employed as a crane operator for the Aliquippa Works of J&L Steel, retiring after 30 years of service. He also earned a real estate certificate from the State of Georgia Real Estate Commission. Friends and family affectionately referred to him by his nicknames, "Peg" or "Cotton". He loved the outdoors. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked his hands in the earth and enjoyed tending to his garden. Above all, Charles was passionately in love with his wife of 61 years, Hattie (Miller) Hunsinger. Every morning began the same for them, breakfast together to start the day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Hunsinger. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Hattie; a son and daughter-in-law, James (Gayle) Hunsinger, Seale, Ala.; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Otto) Hoover, Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rebecca Michelle (Jeffrey) Lampe, Industry; James (Cindy) Hunsinger; Amie Jacqueline (Brent) Shaw; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Homer; sisters, Mae and Shirley, as well as extended family and friends. Friends will be received on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester. Military honors will be presented at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the funeral home by members of the Beaver County Special Unit, followed by his funeral service with the Rev.
